01|香港海洋公园目前正实践重生方案

香港海洋公园主席表示,4月21日入场市民踊跃,相信不少香港人出现抗疫疲劳,希望可有更多户外活动。又指,旅游业近两三年受到重创,海洋公园与其他主题园以及旅游界一样,期望疫情好转,对内对外都能恢复通关。

主席表示,过去几年公园面对财政挑战,目前正实践重生方案,现阶段山下的零售、饮食及消闲区的招标正在进行中。

The chairman of Ocean Park in Hong Kong said that there was a strong turnout at the park on 21 April and he believed that many Hong Kong people are tired of fighting the COVID-19 and hope to have more outdoor activities. He added that the tourism industry has been hit hard in the past two to three years, and Ocean Park, like other theme parks and the tourism industry, hopes to recover from the COVID-19 and resume customs clearance both internally and externally.

The chairman said that the park had faced financial challenges in the past few years and was now implementing a regeneration plan. The stores for the retail, food and leisure are attracting investments for now.

03|Macys cooperates with FIT on fashion shows

Macys will host “The Future of Fashion Runway Show” at 7pm on 11 May in partnership with FIT Academy, featuring work from graduates of FITs BFA Program in Fashion Design 2022. It covers five areas of knitwear, sportswear, close-fitting clothing, special occasion clothing and childrens wear.

Macys in-house design team will select one based on design quality, commercial appeal and originality to be sold at Macys in New York in the fall, with a tag featuring the winning students name, photo and resume.

04|Kohls百货或被收购

04|Kohls Department may be acquired

The owner of J.C. Penney Department has offered about $8.6 billion for rival Kohls Department.

The offer from shopping centre giant Simon Property and Canadas Brookfield Asset Management includes an offer of $8 a share for Kohls Department. Under the terms of the deal, J.C. Penney and Kohls will operate separately under their current names.

Private equity giants Sycamore Partners and Leonard Green and Partners, as well as Saks Fifth Avenue parent company Hudsons Bay, are also reportedly interested in buying Kohls Department.

01|Vestiaire Collective发布首份影响报告

Gucci母公司投资的二手奢侈品电商Vestiaire Collective日前发布与普华永道合作完成的第一份影响报告,发现70%的客户认为在平台上会减少对全新产品的消费,此举将节省90%新时尚产品的环境成本。

在排放量方面,与购买新物品相比,客户在Vestiaire Collective购买的每件二手物品可节省17公斤的二氧化碳,相当于一辆普通汽车行驶100公里。

01|Vestiaire Collective releases its first impact Report

Vestiaire Collective, an online second-hand luxury retailer invested by Guccis parent company, has published its first impact report with PWC, which found that 70% of its customers believe that they will reduce their consumption of brand new products, saving 90% of the environmental costs of new fashion products.

In terms of emissions, each used item purchased at Vestiaire Collective saves 17kg of CO2 compared with a new purchase, which is the equivalent of driving a typical car 100km.

02|Sandros parent companys revenue jumped nearly 24% in Q1

French fashion group SMCP, owning brands include Sandro and Maje, reported a 23.7% jump in revenue to €283 million in Q1, driven by strong demand in the US and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), where revenue rose 44.5% and 72.9% respectively.

Sales in France jumped 22.7%; Sales in the Asia Pacific region fell 7.2%t to €72.8 million due to the temporary closure of some stores in China due to the COVID-19. Isabelle Guichot, the groups CEO, said it would continue to follow One Journeys strategic plan and further enhance the brands presence by opening tailored stores in Europe and Asia.

Chinas down wear giant Bosideng has been ranked 48th in the worlds top 50 most valuable apparel brands for the second year in a row, according to international Brand valuation agency Brand Finance.

Analysts had predicted that with the upgrade of the “new three-year” strategy, Bosidengs revenue would reach 15.35 billion yuan in 2022, 17.71 billion yuan in 2023 and 20.21 billion yuan in 2024.

05|Consumption of luxury goods surged in South Korea

According to data released by South Koreas Samsung Card recently, peoples pent-up consumer demand has turned to the luxury market due to the prolonged impact of the COVID-19, and high spending has increased rapidly.

In Q1 of 2022, a single transaction of more than 1 million won (5,247 yuan), saw a y-o-y increase of 89%. By age group, spending increased the most by 99% for those aged 40 to 49, followed by those aged 30 to 39 (89%), over 50 (88%) and 20 to 29 (56%).

Puma stated Q1 sales rose 19.7% y-o-y to €1.912 billion and operating profit rose 27% to €196 million, well above analysts expectations of €181.5 million. Net profit rose 11.2% to €121 million.

By region, growth was strongest in the Americas, up 44.1% y-o-y, driven by continued high demand in North America and Latin America. Sales in the Asia-pacific region, including Greater China, fell 17% due to the COVID-19.
